NBA stars engage in intense battles on the court throughout the demanding season, yet there are common interests among many of the league’s superstars. Among these interests is a shared love for golf and alcohol. Golden State Warriors’ standout Stephen Curry is no exception, as he enjoys indulging in both pursuits.
In a recent interview, Curry discussed his passion for the sport and various other topics. When asked about his favorite alcoholic beverage while discussing his preferred off-court activity, Curry kept it simple, revealing one of his go-to drinks, which may come as a surprise to many.
Stephen Curry’s love for golf is no secret. Like many other eminent names like Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, he likes to have a swing once in a while.
During a recent interview with Esquire, he talked about his love for the game and also many other interesting topics. The four-time NBA champion asserted that he actually plays golf better whenever he is indulging in the game during the season. The reason being? Game time is limited during the season which is why Curry always gives his best whenever he gets to play golf.
Furthermore, during the same interview, he also disclosed his preferred alcoholic beverage. Discussing his preference for simplicity, Curry remarked, “I am not picky at all, but usually it’s a little tequila soda. Let’s just keep it clean.”
Interestingly, Curry employs alcohol in a unique manner. In 2018, during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, where Curry had a subpar performance on the court, Draymond Green reached out to him and suggested they go out for a drink. Curry promptly agreed, and subsequently, the team won the next three games after trailing 2-1.
The ex-MVP, now 34, maintains a youthful appearance that fans frequently remark upon. However, this characteristic recently caused him some trouble during an outing with his wife. While dining at California Pizza Kitchen, he attempted to purchase a round of beer but was unexpectedly denied due to his failure to present identification. Despite his assurance of being over 21, the waitress remained skeptical. Fortunately, the situation was resolved after a conversation with the manager, who promptly recognized the NBA superstar.
