The Memphis Grizzlies may have just wrapped up one of their worst and most unsettling regular season campaigns in recent memory, but their players are preaching patience during these early stages of the offseason.
At least, that’s what Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant seem to be urging Grind City’s mindset to be moving forward, as the former posted an inspiring message on his personal Instagram account’s story that, soon after, was reposted by the latter.
Jackson would follow up his initial message via social media by posting a second story with the caption “It’s all we think about” accompanied by an image of the Grizzlies huddling around coach Taylor Jenkins mid-game as he draws out a play.
Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. urge Grizzlies fans to practice patience
With their 27-55 finish, the Grizzlies have officially registered their sixth-worst record since settling in Memphis 22 years ago.
Of course, this lackluster campaign was largely influenced by the slew of injuries sustained throughout their roster, which wound up leading to a record-setting number of players who ended up suiting up for the franchise what with their two-way and 10-day utilization.
When fully intact with guys like Morant, Jackson, and Desmond Bane leading the charge, this team has seen incredible amounts of successes, particularly during the previous two campaigns heading into this one where they accumulated two straight Southwest Division titles, consecutive playoff berths, and 107 total regular season wins.
With health on their side, the Grizzlies strongly believe they can once again be vying for championship contention as soon as next year, which is why he and Jackson are in agreement that while this season was certainly challenging to endure, it will have all been worth it if they manage to nab their first Larry O’Brien Trophy in the process.
