It was no surprise when one of the worst-kept secrets became official on Tuesday.
Steph Curry confirmed that he will be joining the U.S. Olympic basketball team this summer, foregoing the chance to defend his title at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe.
Expressing his disappointment at missing out on the opportunity to defend his title, Curry stated, “the chance to represent my country and, hopefully, win an Olympic gold medal for the first time at the 2024 Games in Paris is an opportunity that I simply could not pass up.” He added, “I look forward to returning to the shores of Lake Tahoe and creating more memories next July and in subsequent years. In the interim, I know that Dell and Seth will represent the Curry family well in my absence, but if one of them doesn’t come home with another trophy for our mantel, I will be highly disappointed!”
In his absence, both his father, Dell Curry, and his brother, Seth Curry, will be competing at Edgewood Tahoe this summer.
As the countdown to the 29th edition of the Lake Tahoe golf tournament begins, anticipation continues to build, with fans eagerly awaiting the chance to witness Curry and his fellow competitors in action.
