Throw Back: Ja Morant’s Daughter Prevents Grizzlies Star from Unleashing Iconic Celebration Upon Memphis Return, Reveals Emotional Bond

The Memphis Grizzlies may be on their way to spark a winning streak after winning two games in a row. And it may have been because of the return of the All-Star point guard, Ja Morant. After serving a long suspension, Grizzlies star Ja Morant is finally back in the starting lineup.

And now, winning his second game too, the Grizzlies star gets held back by his daughter from breaking out his most iconic celebration.

Ja Morant’s daughter does not share the same enthusiasm

The Memphis Grizzlies won a 116-103 matchup against the Indiana Pacers. This is the second game in which the team had Ja Morant back. The two-time All-Star was of great help on the offensive end of the floor. He had 20 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds for the game. At the same time, his teammates helped out majorly in generating some offense of their own. Morant has always been ecstatic, be it on or off the floor. He often celebrated his wins with some iconic celebrations of his own. And he tried to do the same after this game as well. Morant tried to get his daughter to say his famous phrase, ‘It’s a parade inside my city, yeah.’

Luckily his daughter did not repeat those words but the announcer sure did. Given that the Grizzlies are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel this season, the excitement among not just fans but even commentators is visible. Morant got a lot of help from his All-Star teammate and reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Jaren Jackson Jr. He poured in 21 points and had 7 rebounds along with 1 assist for the game as well.

But Desmond Bane’s 31-point performance led the team.

After his first game back this season, it was clear that Ja Morant had been itching to get back onto the court. However, due to his suspension, Morant couldn’t do anything about it and missed out on training camps and the preseason.

But now that the Murray State product is back in action, even his excitement is justified. The only thing Morant needs to look out for is his demeanor off the court rather than when he is on the court.

The 6’2 point guard is the cornerstone of the Grizzlies franchise. And the quicker he realizes that it would be beneficial only for him.

Will his return spark an unlikely playoff challenge for the Grizzlies?
