Rapper Moneybagg Yo recently divulged a conversation between him and Ja Morant following the NBA star again getting in trouble ‘I appreciate that big bro, I got you. I’m gonna get it right’

Memphis rapper and friend of Ja Morant divulges their conversation

Rapper Moneybagg Yo recently revealed a conversation he had with Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant after the NBA star once again faced trouble for displaying a firearm on Instagram Live.

Morant, 23, shares a friendship with the Memphis rapper and has often been spotted sitting courtside at Grizzlies games alongside Tee Morant, Ja’s father.

During an interview with Complex, the 31-year-old rapper expressed his belief that Morant is merely going through a phase and will eventually outgrow this behavior.

“He’s 23. I feel like it’s just a phase,” Moneybagg Yo explained. “When I was 23-24, I was doing similar things, and people had to guide me. I had to learn the hard way, and God had to teach me lessons. I’m grateful I made it through those situations because some people don’t recover from certain challenges.

“But I feel like Ja probably doesn’t fully grasp the reality of his situation right now. It’s just a stage he’s going through.”

Morant, who briefly sought counseling after the first incident, issued an apology following the second. Moneybagg Yo says Ja assured him he’ll “get it right” this time.

“Ja’s going to snap out of it, and of course, I gave him encouraging words. He said, ‘I appreciate that, big bro. I got you. I’m going to get it right,'” the rapper shared.

After the second video surfaced, Morant was suspended from all Grizzlies activities, and the NBA is investigating the matter.
