Speaking out on social media is one thing; demonstrating those words with actions is another. We’re not referring to Ja Morant, the disgraced Memphis Grizzlies point guard, but rather to his daughter Kaari, whose playful trash talk went viral after she scored a basket on her mom and flaunted it for the camera.
Kaari shines naturally as a star. The hilarious video, originally posted on TikTok by Kaari’s mother, KK Dixon, garnered widespread attention after being shared by numerous major outlets. Fans couldn’t get enough of the 4-year-old’s antics.
In the video, Kaari confidently addresses the audience, declaring, “I got this, y’all,” before delivering a playful insult to her mom with a thumbs down gesture. Dixon humorously captioned the video, “I know she did not just say my mom is poo.” Kaari then proceeds to make a contested basket and celebrates by flexing for the camera, mimicking Morant’s iconic style, while exclaiming, “you see what I got!”
With her combination of aggressive trash talk, basketball skills, and keen awareness of the camera, it’s clear that Kaari possesses all the makings of a basketball star. She doesn’t shy away from the spotlight either; boasting over 200,000 followers on Instagram at just 4 years old, she eclipses her mom’s following by more than fourfold.
Meanwhile, fans eagerly await Ja Morant’s return to the Grizzlies from his suspension. Serving a 25-game ban for “conduct detrimental to the NBA” due to multiple Instagram posts featuring himself with a gun, Morant’s absence has been keenly felt by Memphis, who have struggled with just six wins in their first 20 games of the season (6-14). However, there’s hope on the horizon as Morant could potentially make his comeback in less than two weeks, possibly returning as early as their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 19th.
In the interim, if the Grizzlies find themselves in need of assistance, perhaps they should consider reaching out to Kaari.
