Ja Morant clarifies his curious social media post
Ja Morant is offering additional explanation regarding his recent social media update.
The Memphis Grizzlies standout, Morant, caught attention on Sunday evening with a somewhat perplexing post on his X page. Morant’s post simply stated “trigger” accompanied by a blue-heart emoji, without any further elaboration or context provided at the moment.
Morant’s post quickly gained traction online, albeit for reasons that weren’t ideal. Given Morant’s history of NBA suspensions due to previous social media posts involving a gun, the initial impression of his latest post wasn’t favorable.
However, Morant provided further context in a subsequent post on Monday afternoon. It was revealed that Morant had recently lost someone dear to him, and the word “trigger” in his original post was actually a reference to that person’s nickname.
“RIP papa,” Morant penned in the follow-up post. “LLTrigger.”
At 24 years old, Morant’s reputation remains a significant aspect of his identity, particularly considering his struggles to redeem himself this season. Unfortunately, his efforts were hindered by a season-ending shoulder injury, occurring just nine games after his return from his most recent suspension. However, Morant is actively striving to move past these setbacks. Recently, he also made a significant off-court business decision, signaling a determination to turn over a new leaf.
