Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry Unite in Call for Solidarity on Challenging Day after Trump аttаcƙ

Following the “shameful” attempt on Dоnald Trump’s life on Sunday, Steve Kerr, the head coach of the US me𝚗’s Olympic basketball team, and star point guard Stephen Curry called for unity in the country. Kerr termed it a “demoralizing day for our country,” and Curry urged togetherness in the face of the “divisive” political environment that now rules American politics.

After being shot in the ear while speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former US president Trump was wоunded. Two spectators suffered serious injuries, and one spectator lost their life.

A few seconds later, the alleged shooter was shot and killed.

Kerr told reporters on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, where Team USA is getting ready for the Olympics, that it was “scary” to consider what might have happened.

“Just a horrible, depressing show. Two fatalities. “This is such a depressing day for our nation,” Kerr remarked.

It’s another illustration of our culture of gu𝚗s and political divisiveness. A twenty-year-old attempting to shoot the former president with an AR-15.

“Considering the problems that already plague the nation, it’s unsettling to consider where this could go. Thus, today is not going well.”

The United States is now in the capital of the United Arab Emirates for training and two exhibition games against Australia and Serbia on July 15 and 17. When they travel to Paris later this month, they will be vying for a 17th Olympic gold medal and a fifth consecutive title in me𝚗’s basketball.

“This is a time where we feel very proud to represent our country, wearing USA on our chest, competing in the Olympics,” stated Kerr.

“We’ve discussed with the athletes the significance of showcasing our best selves as people. It is quite disheartening for us to sit here and consider what transpired and what’s going on in our country, and it makes you want to represent our nation with dignity and respect.

“Obviously, what we’re doing is very trivial, we’re just playing basketball, but we want to put our best selves out there to try to give people a glimpse of what our country can be about, and then you hear something like this, and it’s just so demoralizing.”

The point guard for the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, described the political climate prior to this November’s elections as depressing. “Gu𝚗 control, first and foremost.”

“This is obviously a very sad time, just in general, all the conversations around the election and the state of politics in our country and then you have a situation like this, which just evokes a lot of emotions around things that we need to correct as a people,” Curry stated.

“First and foremost, of course, gu𝚗 control. You want optimism and hope because it’s feasible for someone to have an аssаult like that, but even more so.

“It may sound corny, but it’s true. That is the pinnacle of our nation’s excellence. It basically makes everything even more blemished. Thus, “sad” is the only word that comes to mind.”

After Abu Dhabi, a star-studded USA team that features Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Curry will travel to London for two more exhibition games before taking a plane to Lille, France, to begin their Olympic campaign.

“For us, we’re going to use it as a unifying moment to use this platform and this opportunity to represent ourselves, our upbringings, our families, our country, to the best that we can,” Curry, 36, said.

“And maybe that sends the proper energy back to your home.”
