Giannis Antetokounmpo says something inspiring after Greece lost to Canada in the first game of the Olympics.
Team Greece lost their first game at the Olympics on Saturday, 86:79, which was a tough start for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
An heroic effort from Antetokounmpo, who made a big difference, did not help Greece 𝔟𝔢𝔞t a strong Canadian team.
Antetokounmpo wowed the crowd with 34 points, caught on 11 of 17 shots, five rebounds, two assists, and only one mistake in 33 minutes of play. It’s too bad that his great efforts weren’t enough to help his team win.
After the game, the Bucks’ star player went on X to talk about how proud he was to defend Greece on such a big stage.
One of the best feelings in the world, Giannis said, is being able to put on the shirt and play for your country.
The loss was upsetting, but the Greeks will have a chance to make things right when they play Spain next. They will be looking for their first win of the Paris Olympics.
It looks like it will be a tough game, but Giannis and his friends need to win to keep their hopes of winning the gold medal alive.
