This week, the best basketball players in the world played against each other before the Olympics in Paris begin this Saturday, July 27. On Monday, Serbia’s Nikola Jokic bҽat Greece 94–72. Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP for the Milwaukee Bucks, was on the Greek team.

With Jokic as their leader and a group of talented players like Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Atlanta Hawks, Nikola Jovic of the Miami Heat, and many more, Serbia is one of the favorites to win a title.

Antetokoumpo finished the game with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. He shot 58 percent in 25 minutes. Greece had a hard time getting things going. Kostas Panaikolaou was the only other player to score 10 or more points. Earlier this month, during the Olympic Qualifiers, they blew past the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Slovenia, and Croatia. Since then, they barely bҽat Puerto Rico and then lost badly to Serbia.

Bogdanovic scored 19 points, while Jokic scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and passed the ball six times. They bҽat Greece easily with 10 or more points from three other players, setting them up well for their first game at the Olympics against the USA.

Giannis was chosen to carry the Greek flag, which is one of the highest awards in sports, because he led his team to the Olympics. Greece will be participating in the Olympics for the first time since 2008 in basketball. Giannis will be the first black flagbearer for Greece, and he will lead his country in Paris along with race walker Antigoni Ntrismpioti.
